Facial Aftercare FAQ

1. Can I go to the gym after a facial?

No. It’s best to avoid the gym or any intense physical activity for at least 24 hours after your facial. Sweating can irritate freshly treated skin and introduce bacteria into open pores, increasing the risk of breakouts or inflammation.

2. Why should I avoid sweating after a facial?

Facials often involve deep cleansing, exfoliation, and extractions, which can leave your pores open and your skin more sensitive. Sweat contains salt and toxins that can irritate your skin and clog pores post-treatment.

3. Can I wash my face after a facial?

Wait at least 12–24 hours before washing your face with your usual products. Let the professional products used during your facial absorb and work their magic without interruption.

6. Can I go out in the sun after a facial?

Minimize sun exposure and always wear SPF after a facial, especially if exfoliation or peels were involved. Your skin is more sensitive to UV rays post-treatment.

Wait at least 3–5 days before exfoliating again. Over-exfoliation can damage the skin barrier and cause redness or sensitivity

8. Can I go swimming or use a sauna/steam room?

Avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms for 24–48 hours. Chlorine, heat, and bacteria can all aggravate your skin.

Mild redness is normal and should subside within a few hours. Use a gentle moisturizer and cool compresses. If irritation persists, contact your esthetician for guidance.
